Pregnancy Physiotherapy Brisbane
WHAT IS PREGNANCY PHYSIOTHERAPY?
During pregnancy, the body undergoes an enormous number of changes, both physically and hormonally. Pregnancy physiotherapy aims to help you move comfortably and confidently throughout pregnancy by supporting the muscles and joints that are put under increased strain during this time.
The physical pains often associated with pregnancy include back or hip pain, pelvic discomfort, rib pain, and other mobility issues. Our approach to the treatment of these issues is gentle and tailored to each different stage of pregnancy. We use a combination of safe exercises, hands-on techniques, and practical advice to help you reduce your pain and get maximum joy out of your pregnancy.
WHO IS PREGNANCY PHYSIOTHERAPY IS FOR?
Pregnancy physiotherapy is, of course, for those who are pregnant or indeed actively trying to become pregnant. More specifically, it is for anyone who is experiencing aches, pains, or movement changes during pregnancy. Many of our patients find this type of therapy especially effective for dealing with lower back pain, pelvic girdle pain, hip or rib discomfort, or sciatica.
We also support women who are wanting guidance on safe exercise, posture, and strengthening throughout pregnancy, as well as those preparing their body for labour and recovery. Regardless of whether it’s your first pregnancy or your fifth, all pregnant women can benefit from pregnancy physiotherapy.
